How to change PS3 NAT type to NAT type 2 (Ultimate Fix)

Hi there. You’ve probably read about this in so many other blogs and help forums out there. To be honest, this NAT type issu has never bugged me before. Until recently I find it hard to connect with a few of my friends on Battlefield: Bad Company and Winning Eleven 2009.

Ok, I have Googled the whole solution, open ports 80, 443 and 5223 (TCP). And open ports 3478, 3479, 3658 (UDP). All this port opening/forwarding has been well documented and I can assure that everyone knows about it. Along with putting your PS3 on the DMZ (wow, it rhymes!).

What if it still doesn’t work? Here’s the solution. You need to know:

1. How to reset your router (two ways, hard reset or soft reset).
2. How to set it up again.
3. How to manually set up PS3 networking.

Reset Your Router.
Before you proceed. Make sure you have your router manual, and you have your current router configuration copied on a piece of paper or something. Reset your router using the hard reset button (refer manual), or your router web based software (not all router will have this). Now your router is set to factory defaults.

Setting it up Again
Before you proceed this step, please leave the PS3 alone for now. No need to do anything to it. Now, reconfigure your router to its last working configuration (so you can connect to the internet again). Refer to the manual, or call a friend who knows. Don’t call me. Once you have set your router to its last working configuration, it’s time to open/forward the ports. Open all the required ports for PS3 to work in NAT type 2. Now with the router done, leave it alone and move along to the PS3.

Manually set up the PS3
This should be easy as the PS3 will guide you through. Just make sure that you set your IP as same as the one you forwarded the ports on the router. If the router config has port 3478, 3479, 3658 (UDP), 80, 443, 5223 (TCP) open on IP 192.168.1.50 then set your PS3 IP to 192.168.1.50

Test connection and walla!

The key step here is RESETTING your router to factory default and then do the port forwarding thinggie on your router. Do leave any comments if you still have problems, or not.

Bridge to Terabithia

OK, I know this is old news. I just have to write about it. Bridge to Terabithia is an awesome movie. A lot has questioned my taste in movies before, this will be another one. I did heard a few of my friends complained that this movie is not that good. They are wrong. I now regret the fact that I did not watch this movie during its showing in the cinema. Where the heck was I?

What to love about this movie? The whole escapism theme to it. Apart from that, I just can’t get through cute little sister. She’s so adorable. Female and male lead was good. I don’t really know their name but they were from the movie ‘The Reaping’ and that ‘Zathura’ kid. They were really good. And Zooey Deschanel, OMG right?

The story is a bit loose, sorry I didn’t read the book. It does have the potential to be as good as ‘Pan’s Labyrinth’ though. There is a surprise in the movie that make me screamed, NOOOOOO… Can’t spoil that, it’s just so good I almost hate this movie.

Watch it if you have some time, or money to spare. I’m thinking I might get this movie on Blu-Ray.

The Dark Knight

Well, the world is buzzing about the Dark Knight. The new chapter of Batman after getting the reboot in Batman: Begins.

I’ve gone to the movie twice for this movie. All I can say is everything about this movie spells AWESOME. First of all, The Batman. He is not an uber ninja afterall. Not superhuman, not superhero (maybe a hero though), not super smooth, not super confident either. Which makes him vulnarable, awkward hero. But hello, this has already been done in Spider-Man 2. I love it. Somehow, it translate into everybody has something in them that make them a hero. Get it? I don’t either.

The Joker was great. All the good reviews for Joker was spot on. If this movie is why Heath Ledger died, he has left us with an awesome gift. I am not going to spoil anything. He is just great. Every lines was delivered to perfection and memorable for the wrong reasons. It sinks into your brain and breaks your heart. This is a classic psycho killer, I love it.

Between this movie and Spider-Man 2, I’d say Spidey 2 still top my charts. Just because I can relate to it even more than Dark Knight. Let’s just put it this way, Dark Knight is how disturbing and psychotic I want my life to be. But I prefer the other.

Watch this movie, 100 times. You won’t regret it!

Wanted

I finally dragged my ass to watch Wanted at the movies. For your information, I read the book (ehem, comic book) sometime last year.

So here’s what I miss so badly from the fucked up yet intelligent book:
1. Fuckwit.
2. Shithead.
3. Bad guys calling themselves Super-fucks.
4. The Killer (Wesley’s Dad), two young guys in a hotel room.

I still like how the movie went. From the alterations they have to make until the ending. It was nicely tailormade for the mainstream audience without running too far away from the originals.

OK, OK. Supervillains and super-assasins is so like night and day, heaven and earth, bla bla bla. And it should have been Halle Berry and Eminem. But James McAvoy is so good at it.

Decent movie, but the book is sooooo much better. Especially the two last pages. Watch the movie, read the book!
