The Dark Knight

Well, the world is buzzing about the Dark Knight. The new chapter of Batman after getting the reboot in Batman: Begins.

I’ve gone to the movie twice for this movie. All I can say is everything about this movie spells AWESOME. First of all, The Batman. He is not an uber ninja afterall. Not superhuman, not superhero (maybe a hero though), not super smooth, not super confident either. Which makes him vulnarable, awkward hero. But hello, this has already been done in Spider-Man 2. I love it. Somehow, it translate into everybody has something in them that make them a hero. Get it? I don’t either.

The Joker was great. All the good reviews for Joker was spot on. If this movie is why Heath Ledger died, he has left us with an awesome gift. I am not going to spoil anything. He is just great. Every lines was delivered to perfection and memorable for the wrong reasons. It sinks into your brain and breaks your heart. This is a classic psycho killer, I love it.

Between this movie and Spider-Man 2, I’d say Spidey 2 still top my charts. Just because I can relate to it even more than Dark Knight. Let’s just put it this way, Dark Knight is how disturbing and psychotic I want my life to be. But I prefer the other.

Watch this movie, 100 times. You won’t regret it!

Wanted

I finally dragged my ass to watch Wanted at the movies. For your information, I read the book (ehem, comic book) sometime last year.

So here’s what I miss so badly from the fucked up yet intelligent book:
1. Fuckwit.
2. Shithead.
3. Bad guys calling themselves Super-fucks.
4. The Killer (Wesley’s Dad), two young guys in a hotel room.

I still like how the movie went. From the alterations they have to make until the ending. It was nicely tailormade for the mainstream audience without running too far away from the originals.

OK, OK. Supervillains and super-assasins is so like night and day, heaven and earth, bla bla bla. And it should have been Halle Berry and Eminem. But James McAvoy is so good at it.

Decent movie, but the book is sooooo much better. Especially the two last pages. Watch the movie, read the book!
